Infinity New Deal Mid Length SUP

Infinity New Deal Mid Length SUP

Mid Length is a bit of a buzz word which seems to be all the rage in both the surfing and foiling worlds. A mid length in surfing is a board which sits between a longboard and a shortboard often taking benefits of both. The longer length taken from a longboard makes the board paddle more easily and glide more. This makes catching waves easier so you should catch more waves. This is the point! The boards are designed to still be agile and turn well like a short board, though there is obviously a compromise here.

In terms of the Infinity New Deal - it is a performance longboard shape. The most popular sizes are the 10x29 and 9'6x31 which are fairly generous models. There are more progressive sizes like the 10x27, 9x28 and 9x26. These sizes look very much like you would expect from a longboard shape.

The 8'6x29  (pictured above) and 8x28 however are short for a longboard and the widths not too narrow, therefore changing the ratio. These two are what are considered the mid length sizes. Having recently started riding the 8'6x29 we are a big fan of this shape.

Here is a video of Infinity shaper Dave riding the New Deal mid.
