Collection: Wetsuits - Women's Winter Wetsuits
UK water temperatures drop to around 7–9°C through winter and rarely climb above 15°C even in a good summer. That means a winter wetsuit isn't just seasonal kit for most people — it's what you'll reach for the majority of the year. Getting the right one matters.
All four suits here are from Sooruz, a French wetsuit brand with a strong focus on eco-conscious construction. Their Oysterprene neoprene is made using limestone rather than petroleum-based neoprene, which is both more sustainable and notably warmer — it has a denser, softer feel than standard neoprene and retains heat very well without adding bulk.
Thickness
The three 5/4/3 suits are the workhorses — 5mm through the body and chest, 4mm on the back, 3mm on the arms and legs where you need the most flexibility. This is the standard UK winter thickness and handles water temperatures from about 7°C upward comfortably when paired with boots, gloves, and a hood. The 6/5/4 Guru+ Hooded is the warmest suit in the range, built for deep winter or colder climates, and comes with an integrated hood — the single biggest upgrade you can make to warmth when temperatures really drop.
Zip Options
The range covers all three main zip styles, so you can pick based on what suits you best.
The back zip suits (Divine 5/4/3) are the most straightforward — easy to get in and out of on your own, which matters on a cold morning in a car park. The trade-off is a slightly less watertight seal at the zip, which can let in a small flush of water when you duck-dive or wipe out. For surf or general water sports in UK conditions, it's rarely a problem.
Front zip suits (also the Divine 5/4/3) use a zip across the chest or lower torso. They're slightly warmer than back zip because the zip runs through a less stressed part of the suit, and seal better when paddling. Entry takes a little practice but most people get used to it quickly.
Chest zip suits (the Guru Pro and Guru+ Hooded) offer the tightest seal and the most warmth. The zip sits across the upper chest and you climb in from the neck down — it feels odd at first but becomes second nature. This is what most serious surfers and foilers use in winter because the near-waterproof seal makes a real difference over a long session.
Which One?
If you're new to winter surfing or want an affordable entry point, the Divine suits at £147 (currently on sale) are excellent value — Oysterprene construction at a fraction of the usual price. If you're in the water regularly and want the warmest, best-sealing option, the Guru Pro chest zip at £285 is the serious choice. For genuine cold water or anyone who runs cold, the 6/5/4 Guru+ Hooded is the top of the range and worth every penny when the thermometer drops.
Pair any of these with wetsuit boots, gloves, and a hood if you're not going for the hooded suit — the hands and feet are where you'll feel the cold first.
