Collection: Mountainboard Protection

Mountainboarding involves speed, rough terrain, and plenty of falls — protection isn't optional if you want to stay riding. This collection covers everything from helmets down to wrists, across three brands that each approach it differently.

Helmets come from MBS — high-density ABS outer shell with shock-absorbing foam inside. Straightforward, affordable, and designed specifically for the sport.

Wrists are the first thing that hits the ground in a fall. Hillbilly's wrist guard gloves integrate the guard and the glove into a single goatskin piece, so there's no fumbling with two separate items. Available in full finger and half finger versions — half finger is the more practical choice for most riding where you need to handle gear without removing your gloves.

Impact shorts are where XION earns their reputation. Their D3O protection sits soft and pliable against the body, moulding with body heat, then stiffens instantly on impact. The Freeride Evo shorts cover hips, coccyx, and tailbone, and sit close enough to the body that you'd barely know they were there under regular clothing. The Bermuda extends that coverage down to the thighs and knees in a 3/4 length cut. Both are available in men's, women's, and junior sizing. Hillbilly also offer their Butt Pads as a simpler option — worn under your shorts, with closed-cell EVA foam and hard shell protection at the tailbone.

Upper body protection comes from XION's Nosleeve Vest and Freeride Jacket. The vest is a slim base layer with a D3O spine protector (EN1621-2 certified, removable lower section). The jacket adds shoulder and elbow coverage on top of the back protection — the choice for anyone going fast on singletrack or steep terrain.
