Bindings are where your feet connect to the board, and on a mountainboard that connection needs to be firm enough to transfer power through rough terrain while still releasing reliably if you need out fast. MBS have been at this since 1993 and the F5 is their most refined binding to date.
The F5 Bindings use a dual-adjustment system — a toe-post cam-lock for coarse sizing and a heel-post ratchet buckle for fine-tuning — so they'll fit a wide range of foot sizes and can be dialled in precisely. The integrated L-Ladder system combines what used to be separate brackets and ladder straps into a single component, removing the strap mounting screws entirely. That means less to come loose on a rough ride and a slightly lighter overall setup. Padding is dual-density throughout, and the ratchet releases with a single finger.
The F5 Heelstraps are a separate addition that upgrades the security of the binding significantly. They add a full ratchet buckle at the heel and dual-density memory foam lining — the result is a more locked-in feel, closer to a snowboard boot than an open strap. They're compatible with F2, F3, F4, and F5 bindings (not F1), and sold as a pair.
