Infinity Escape Pod
The Escape Pod is a modern evolution from our groundbreaking shape the "Phoenix" that was originally introduced in 2015 and quickly became our best selling model for 3 years straight with the range expanding to 4 versions. This shape helped usher in the under 8' SUP surf era when originally most people did not think it was possible to ride a SUP that short.
Team Rider Bernd Roediger's style and approach to riding waves was a perfect match to launch this new design. Together with shaper Dave Boehne the "flow bros" quite possibly have come up with the most fun SUP surf board ever.
Escape Pod boards are short, wide, and carry more volume than your typical board. This allows riders to go much shorter while maintaining fantastic stability and paddle speed. It's not outrageous to ride this board 1' or more shorter than your current daily driver.
The straighter outline and wider tail allow the board to have automatic speed from take off and get the board up and planing on its own. We match that up with the low drag twin fin set up for unmatched speed and maneuverability.
The bottom shape has a slight "rolled" belly entry that creates lift which flows into a fast speedy section in the middle of the board and transitions into a wide vee concave that matches up with the fin placement for rail to rail flow and control. The "hex" tail works at multiple touch points in different parts of the wave and aides in hollower waves with some bite.
Although the board is short and thick we've managed to hide the volume in the middle of the board with nice tapered angular rails and a subtle "s" deck which thins out the nose and tail for even more swing weight response.
This board is meant for waves head high and below, Both quick beach break and open face reef type waves, the typical everyday stuff most of us surf on a day to day basis. Fast down the line and race out the section. Speed around the corner and throw a big carve. More advanced riders can push this shape in to other territories. Bernd has competed on this board multiple times and took 1st Place at the Carolina Pro-Am twice on this shape.

About Infinity
Infinity have been building surfboards since the 1970s. They are a family run business out of Dana Point, California. One thing that has always set them apart has been their willingness to build all kinds of watercraft and not being limited to just surfboards. Whether that meant tandem boards or wave skis in the early days, or today SUPs and Foil boards. Their designs have always been about pushing limits and they have always loved making boards fast.
