What New Products do AXIS have coming for us?

The 'AWSI' industry show has just been held in Hood River, Oregon again - and while supposedly its only historically a show for North American retailers to see the new equipment coming to plan purchasing for the next season, its now become a bit of a showcase to release info on new products for the wider windsports community online.

AXIS especially this year seems to have really come out swinging. Adrian has a bag of new tricks under his belt that he doesn't seem to be able to hold back any longer - which means it can't be far off us seeing them here in the UK!

Check out the videos linked, but heres a run through of what seems to be coming:

The Tempo:

We've seen the Titanium fuselage piece on socials for a little while now, floating around the downwind scene - and it was obvious from this and the dominance the brand held at the Hawaiian downwind races this year that they were on to something.

Very much pitted towards the downwind SUP foil world, but Adrian and the riders seem fairly adamant that wingers after the ultimate in glide will also be very happy jumping on this wing and system.

It may seem like a change in system, but the Tempo is the only wing that fits on said system for now and it was done so for good reason - to allow Adrian to design both front and rear wings much, much thinner than previously allowed, without having to build up a bulbous head around the existing fuselage system. This increases speed and stiffness in the system as well as reducing drag.

It doesn't currently seem like there are any other wings to be put onto this system - but never say never. Adrian also seems to still be designing wings that focus around the current black fuselage as well - so we can't see anything changing anytime soon, this is simply an add on for those wanting the best of the best in one specific discipline

Integrated Carbon Foildrive Masts

It seems to have taken a while, as we saw photos of this from last year - but a Carbon Integrated mast for Foildrive users doesnt seem far away. Available in High Modulus and also Ultra High modulus carbon for those wanting the best of the best. These look like pieces of art, they're so well sculpted.

For those reaching towards frictionless performance with their foildrives - these are the next piece of the puzzle.

Pocket Trench Foildrive Board

Speaking of frictionless Foildrive performance..... it seems trench board designs are taking yet another step up.

The Zapple from Appletree has been a great offering in this space for 2025 - but the Pocket Trench looks like it might take the mantle for 2026. A pocket for the foildrive unit to slip into will no doubt aid drag even more, but the biggest standout to us seems to be the all new track design which looks to make changing your battery an absolute doddle.

No more lining up bolts and removing track nuts seperately. An oversized fibreglass track and steel insert nut make for an extremely impressive looking innovation. We look forward to seeing when these are available!

Fatty Mast and Fatty Fuselage's

AXIS has always been about stiffness, right from the beginning. Being that they also innovated hard into the pump foil space before it was even a thing - they've managed to produce some of the best foils on the market for this discipline. As these foils get bigger and spannier, stiffness needs to keep up for performance to maintain. We can't expect the same system we want to perform well at 40mph to also withstand forces from a 1750cm span wing (see below!). And so the Fatty mast system has been created.

It sounds like these masts are going to suit the pump foilers best - while also being super useful for those bigger Wing and SUP riders who are naturally putting more force through their foils than someone lighter. Feedback from AXIS Ambassador Mark Shinn at 100/105kg body weight is that this system has become his go-to for all disciplines

1500 and 1750 Fireballs

Possibly the main reason the Fatty masts have been produced? Dock starters are now not only pushing limits on pump times, but also distance and therefore speed and performance. The PnG foils are epic at getting you up and going - whether Dock start, learning to downwind or SUP foil - but they are tremendously slow foils. Enter the new bigger Fireballs.

Maintaining the speed charactaristics of the smaller sizes in the range, these look like they must be able to pump beautifully. AXIS Rider Nicholas Iten seems to have just broken the record for the biggest distance pumped in 1 hour on one of these pre production wings.

Whether we'd want to wing them much is another question.... time will tell!

Surf Wings??

There seems to be rumours floating around the Facebook owners groups that Adrian is working on a new Surf wing for a release in the near future. Below are words from the man himself:

'Same foil the Luke used to win the Pt Plomer event in Australia. They surf really well on the face cope well with breach and whitewater hits. They also pump well to connect multiple waves. Great for wingfoil freestyle or DW Surf. They are being built and more information as they release.'

Roll on winter 2025/Early 2026 for more information on release of all these exciting products!
