Collection: Mountainboard Tyres
Tyres have more impact on how a mountainboard rides than almost any other component. The right tyre for a grassy slope is completely wrong for a skatepark, and vice versa. All four MBS tyres here are sold individually — buy four if you're building a complete setup or replacing a full set, or mix and match if you want a different balance of grip and speed front-to-rear.
MBS T1 — £16.50
The T1 is MBS's original tyre design and still the lightest 8" tyre in the range. Its arched, centred tread profile is built for speed — the narrow contact patch reduces drag and makes it the fastest-rolling option on hard terrain. It's the tyre of choice for freestyle riders and racers who want quick acceleration and the ability to slide and drift deliberately. If you're kite landboarding and want the board to move fast and respond precisely, the T1 is the standard choice.
MBS T3 — £17.00
The T3 builds on the T1's design with a flatter profile, a split centre bead, and raised edge knobs. The result is more rubber in contact with the ground at any given moment, which translates to more grip — particularly lateral grip when carving or holding a line into the wind on a kite. A centre channel helps clear water in wet conditions, and the edge knobs bite well into soft terrain like loose dirt and wet grass. It's marginally slower to accelerate than the T1 due to the larger contact patch, but for most riders in most conditions the extra grip is the better trade-off. The T3 comes in black, green, and yellow.
MBS T2 — £23.50
The T2 is the big one — a 9" freeride tyre rather than the 8" that the rest of the range uses. The larger diameter rolls over rough terrain more easily, absorbs more impact, and gives a noticeably more planted, stable feel at speed on broken ground. It's the tyre to choose if you're riding genuinely rough off-road terrain — stone tracks, rooty woodland paths, rutted hillsides — where the smaller tyres would bounce and deflect. It's heavier and won't accelerate as sharply as the T1, but for the terrain it's designed for, nothing in the range comes close.
MBS Roadie — £16.50
The Roadie is a slick tyre — no tread, smooth rubber designed for asphalt and concrete. It's purpose-built for skateparks, car parks, and any hard surface riding where off-road knobbles would create unnecessary rolling resistance. Run at higher pressures than the off-road tyres, the Roadie is fast and responsive on smooth ground. Available in black or purple.
A note on tubes: MBS tyres are sold without inner tubes — you'll need to pick up tubes separately if you're setting up fresh wheels or replacing a punctured tube. Inner tubes are listed in our Mountainboard Parts & Accessories section.
